No matter where you go in this city, there’s one thing you’ll find everywhere, and no it’s not pasta…It’s Gelato!  Sometimes it’ll be stacked in lavish, giant mountains decorated with bright strawberries and lemon peels, other times it’ll be served in front of a chocolate waterfall.  With so many options, it can be difficult to avoid getting roped into paying through the nose for mediocre gelato. So, if you want to cool off from the heat like the locals do, then check out these places, and enjoy Florence in the sweetest way possible:

Perche no!

This gelateria is a cute little place down the road from Zara, a lot of locals seem to visit this spot so you know it’s good.  Consistently ranking high for gelaterias, it’s also one of the most reliable places in town for vegan and gluten-free options if that’s what you’re after. Sidenote: They seem to switch up their flavors pretty regularly, so it’s worth making multiple trips to really get a taste of this place.

This place is pretty poppin’, and their gelato is very reasonably priced making it the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth after a day of class. The Uffizi is nearby so if you’re ever in that part of town, then make sure to grab a scoop or two of your favorite gelati before going to see The Birth of Venus.
