As the dire conditions in Syria continue, so do the waves of refugees seeking shelter and safety in Europe. Bus2alps remains committed to raising money for Save the Children’s efforts to alleviate this crisis.
Since beginning this campaign in September, we’ve been able to raise almost $3,000 with your help. This money has gone towards programs including:
- Distributing emergency shelters, hygiene kits, and baby kits
- Providing food, milk, soap, diapers, and other essentials
- Setting up stations to provide medical support, education, and legal guidance to incoming refugees
- Initiating programs at reception centers to advocate for children’s rights
- Establishing child-friendly spaces in refugee camps
Over 4 million people have been displaced from Syria, and the above programs have helped these people in countries including Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, and more. To see what conditions are like for these refugees, this video paints a vivid picture.
