Prioritizing Safety: Our Approach to the Global Climate

While the world is still reeling from last week’s terror attacks in Paris and Mali, our deepest sympathies go to those affected. As a European travel company and as global citizens, we are committed to continuing to operate trips of the utmost safety with all concerns in mind.

In light of the recent travel alert issued by the US State Department, we want to address our safety policy during these concerning times. We respect the need for the State Department to issue a travel alert, which compels us to consider the potential risks of worldwide travel. As always, and with increased vigilance at this time, we research and consider any potential dangers in all of our destinations before allowing trips to operate.

The recent global travel alert is not specific to any one destination; rather, it advises vigilance in all public areas and adherence to local authorities’ instructions. We keep careful track of all such instructions and advice and we are currently working with our partners and universities internationally to assess risk in all of our destinations and develop an updated plan as necessary.

As of this time, the feedback we have received indicates that business will and should continue as usual. We intend to follow suit as it is now more important than ever to reap the benefits of traveling: as Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”

As you prepare for your semester abroad, we hope you take comfort in the fact that Bus2alps will never expose our passengers to unnecessary risk. We are constantly monitoring the situation and are prepared to plan accordingly should the global climate shift negatively.

We continue to be inspired by our staff’s and guests’ enthusiasm for travel, and we look forward to you joining us for another semester of exploring the world in the safest way possible.
