Today, the number of refugee children is at the highest level since World War II. With approximately half of the world’s 19.5 million registered refugees being children, it’s now more important than ever that we all do what we can to help.
While families are on the move seeking asylum and a better life after being forced from their homes, they are extremely vulnerable. Bus2alps is committed to raising money for Save the Children, which works to provide them with the food, shelter, education, legal counsel, and other necessities they desperately need to improve their lives.
Living in Europe, we’re especially close to the crisis as so many European nations are transit and destination countries. In Greece, Croatia, Italy, the UK, France, Spain, Sweden, Germany, and more Save the Children is operating relief efforts to aid refugees.
We’ve been able to raise over $3,000 so far with your help, and we’re working to hit $5,000. You can help just by donating €1 or €5 when booking your Bus2alps trips and we will match the total amount raised, or donating any amount on our team page.
To put it in perspective, here’s how your money will help:
- $15 provides 1,000 gallons of clean drinking water
- $35 provides a week of nutritious food for a refugee child
- $120 provides a family with a shelter kit, including a tent and sleeping bags
