Weekly Recap – Please Don’t Go!

[slideshow]Tis a sad, sad, time of the summer when we here at Bus2alps have to say our goodbyes to our Session I friends all over Europe. We have had so much fun with all of you and hope that your time abroad was made even better because of the bus, but also because of the people you met on it. But we are also very excited for the incoming group and can’t wait to do it all again for the rest of the summer!

This past week we’ve had our last aperitivos and family dinners of the first half of the summer at our favorite spots, Friends Cafe and Gatto (thanks – to the New Yorkers from CSI for making the night one to remember! And Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!) Thursday night was spent at Tony’s in Trastevere with the Michigan State girls, and Tony added his special touch with everyone from Bus2alps getting jars of his homemade pesto to bring home to their families.  Friday night was our last night out with the John Cabot group as well, and we made sure to hit up Tony’s, Bar Cinque, as well as the Drunken Ship in Campo di Fiori.

It was a good last weekend for Temple students.  The Temple girls had an adventurous weekend in Interlaken, Switzerland full of canyoning, waterfalls and hiking in the gorgeous Swiss Alps, while the rest of Temple experienced a different kind of beautiful in the Amalfi Coast.  The sunshine was hot, but the sky was blue and the water was refreshing as the group cliff jumped, swam in caves and explored our favorite coastline in southern Italy.

We’re already gearing up for the second round of travelers to Europe! Starting off in Florence with our first free coffee day at Mama’s Bakery on “the other side” of the river! Complete with bagels and cream cheese as well as the best bagel sandwiches this side of the Atlantic. Barcelona is still partying it up at night, but also is making sure everyone has a few relaxing mornings of yoga on the beach for anyone that’s interested. Get ready for more days like this to come! The summer is still only beginning to heat up!

We hope everyone who headed back home this past weekend had a fabulous past month in Italy.  It was amazing to meet everyone, whether it was while eating pizza in Naples, sipping wine in Tuscany, dancing in Prague, sailing in the French Riviera, island hopping in Croatia, cliff Jumping in Amalfi, or hanging out in Rome.  It’s been incredible!  Safe travels 🙂 PS. You can always come back for a visit for spring break!
