Head south to Italy’s top beach destination on the trip that won Bus2alps the TourRadar award for #1 Tour in Europe. Relax on the black sand beaches of Positano and enjoy the amazing Neopolitan cuisine. Party in downtown Sorrento and boat around the island of Capri. Sample limoncello and show off your new handmade sandals from Anacapri. Finally, explore the UNESCO ruins of Pompeii while admiring Mt. Vesuvius.
Bus2alps is the only way to go to the Amalfi Coast!
Travel to the Amalfi Coast is by private coach. We make one rest stop before arriving in Sorrento and checking into our accommodation.
Friday morning we set sail for the Island of Capri. Deluxe package passengers will travel by private yacht, enjoy a private tour around the island, visit the famous Blue Grotto and stop for a swim while taking in the beauty of the island from the glittering blue waters below! Full package passengers will travel by ferry directly to Capri.
Once on Capri, our private transport takes us the town of Anacapri, the highest part of the island, where we will be welcomed with a free sample of chocolate and limoncello at our local partner’s sandal shop! These artisans have been crafting hand-made sandals for over 50 years.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore! We recommend riding the chairlift to the top of Mount Solaro (Included for Deluxe Package passengers) to get a breathtaking 360-degree view of the island, getting a unique pair of custom-made sandals, and having a delicious lunch at one of the great restaurants that your trip leader can point out to you! You also have the option of checking out the rest of the island or hanging out on the beach down by Marina Grande. We will depart from Marina Grande in the afternoon to head back to our accommodation.
Friday night Deluxe passengers will enjoy an included sea side dinner along the cliffside, with sweeping views of the entire peninsula. All passengers have the option to explore downtown Sorrento’s bars restaurants and boutiques that evening.
Saturday morning we depart by ferry to Positano. Positano is world-famous for the colorful stacked buildings built into the cliff-side. Once in Positano, your trip leader will point out our favorite local spot for sandwiches, snacks, and drinks. We can also recommend other local restaurants if you prefer a sit-down Italian-style lunch. You will then spend the afternoon relaxing on the black stone beach, swimming in the sparkling blue waters, and browsing the many shops of Positano, a town known for its ceramics and lace! It is also possible to rent a boat, kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards while there (availability based on the season & weather). We return to Sorrento late afternoon.
Saturday night you have free to yourself to either kick back at your accommodation or take an included transfer to Sorrento for a night exploring the town and grabbing a bite to eat.
Sunday morning after breakfast and checking out of our accommodation we depart for the Pompeii Unesco World Heritage site via private coach. The entrance to the ruins of Pompeii is included for Deluxe passengers, a privated guided tour with licensed guide can also be purchased. We recommend joining the tour as the guides paint a picture of life in Pompeii during the Roman era and bring life to the ruins. After, we suggest eating at our favorite spot for a delicious Neopolitan-style pizza before we head back to Florence in the early afternoon
Blue Grotto: Entrance into the site includes a rowboat ride into the famous fluorescent blue cave.
Positano Water Activities: It is possible to rent a boat, go sea kayaking, rent stand-up paddleboards, purchase floaties, and more while on Positano’s beaches. Availability based on the season & weather.
Pompeii Guided Tour: Bus2alps has been using the same guides for years. They give a fantastic account of the city and bring the ruins to life!
